The IAPAM believes strongly in the protection of our client's privacy and we are committed to ensuring that your commercial and personal information is appropriately safeguarded. To this end, we have adopted the following privacy principles:

• We will not disclose identifiable commercial or business information to any third parties unless there is an appropriate legal or business justification to do so.

1. Consent and the Collection of Personal
Information Personal information is typically collected by IAPAM to determine eligibility for association membership.

2. Using Personal Information
The IAPAM uses personal information in accordance with the authorization provided by the individual to whom the information relates, in accordance with this Privacy Policy, its contractual rights and obligations and the law.

Personal information shall not be used by IAPAM employees and representatives for purposes other than as is required in the performance of their employment duties. You are allocated to mailing lists according to either a) your own requests or b) our belief as to which of our services would be of relevance and importance to you.

3. Accuracy of Your Personal Information
We have procedures to ensure that the information we collect and use is accurate, up-to-date, and as complete as possible. However, we rely on the individuals we do business with to disclose all material information and to inform the IAPAM of any changes.

4. Disclosure of Personal Information
On occasion we will host an event jointly with a third party. We will only release your details to that third party on the basis of them conducting a specific and singular mailing. Where you respond directly to the third party you will be deemed to be giving your consent to their continued use of your details. Where we undertake administration of joint events any individual from the third party's mailing list will be added to our contacts database and may in future receive relevant mailings from us. The IAPAM also shares information to combat fraud; where permitted or required by law; or, at the request of government regulators.

The IAPAM sometimes retains an affiliated company or an independent third party (“authorized administrator”) to perform on IAPAM's behalf, certain functions in support of the products and services IAPAM provides. Such functions could include marketing assistance, education assistance, benefit administration, and/or administrative services. Accordingly, in certain instances these affiliates or third parties will be provided with personal information to the extent that it is necessary in the performance of those specific services.

5. Retention and Access to Your Personal Information
Personal information is retained only for so long as is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to meet legal and contractual obligations. If personal information is no longer required, it will be destroyed or rendered anonymous.

If an individual has a right of access, the individual or a person authorized in writing to act on their behalf may, with satisfactory identification and proof of entitlement, request access or, if applicable, request a correction of personal information which the IAPAM has in its custody.

The right to access is not absolute. For example, there is no right to access and access may be declined, if the information requested is subject to a legal privilege.

A reasonable fee may be charged in advance for copying and sending requested information requested to which there is a right of access.

E-mails you send us are not necessarily secure when they are transmitted to us. If your communication is very sensitive, you may want to send it by regular mail instead.
